The Rolex Building in Dallas’s Harwood district is over 135,000 square feet of office space. It is a collaboration between the Harwood International Architecture firm and Kengo Kuma & Associates. The first building to open in the Harwood district, the Rolex building is situated in an environment surrounded by luxurious restaurants, gardens, and art curation. Staxmatic installed the plumbing and HVAC for the facility, including a condenser water system, two roof-mounted cooling towers, and a chill water system to support the data center.

Staxmatic is installing both the Plumbing and the HVAC on the new down-town Dallas Rolex Building. From the HVAC side it is a condenser water system with two roof-mounted cooling towers that use vertical self contained air handler units. There is also a chill water system that feeds into the data center.

Plumbing

Plumbing for the Rolex building includes efficient pumps and extensive piping to facilitate this large structure’s complex layout. Staxmatic supplied expertise in navigating regulatory codes for a mixed-use facility, as well as expert design and implementation.

Water Source Heat Pump

Staxmatic installed the Rolex Building’s heat pump, which features a condenser water system, two roof-mounted cooling towers, and vertical, self-contained air handler units. The water-based system provides greater efficiency in heat exchange and effective distribution of controlled air throughout the entire facility.

Chill Water Mix

Information technology and data centers create tremendous amounts of heat, which requires highly efficient cooling. Air-cooling systems are limited in these applications, but chill-water cooling provides state-of-the-art technology to protect businesses from data loss.
